Learn techniques from British Military Fitness experts before attempting to complete the Fan Dance
Do you love a challenge? Think you have the levels of fitness required to beat the rest? Plus the mental strength to overcome any obstacles? Well this unique challenge could be for you…
The Fan Dance is fitness & navigation skills test used by the British Military. The 23.5km trail runs through the Brecon Beacons in South Wales reaching a maximum elevation of 886 m at the peak of Pen y Fan. Our aim is to complete this – as a team – in 4 hours.
The team will spend the weekend learning the skills required to complete the challenge from our British Military Fitness Mountain Leaders. Skills will include: navigation, survival skills, pacing techniques and lightweight packing.
This is a physical and a mental challenge. You will need to be physically fit and have experience of hill walking. You will also need to be committed to the challenge itself - our winners will be expected to follow a 6 week intensive fitness training regime to ensure that they reach the required fitness levels.
Please note: The GORE-TEX® Experience Tour project itself will be held in English. Gore will pay for the travel expenses of the seven candidates for the duration of the 3-day project.
